From Puppy to Service Dog!
Hi, I'm Snook...

Hey everyone! In case you don’t know me, here’s a little about my journey.
I am a white English Labrador Retriever and I am turning 8 years old this August.
I started out as a cute, little puppy with lots of potential. I learned lots of new things like sitting and staying but then I got to live with my trainer on a college campus. She took me to class, to cheerleading practice. (I still get excited when people cheer!) It was here that I got accustomed to lots of different places. I then went to learn even more stuff like smelling blood sugars and alerting. The training was hard work but I did it!
I was matched with my mom in 2018 and got to meet her in person on June 28th of that year. I got to train with my buddy Ice and his mom, Erin. She taught me a lot and we still are in touch today.
Since I am getting older, the time is coming where I will retire and pass the torch to my successor. Duke is a lot of “puppy” for me and I am not used to that level of energy but it will be fine. I have high hopes for him. In the meantime, I have the big job of helping Duke learn how to keep my mom safe and alert her to blood sugar levels. He has a lot to learn and (selfishly) big paws to fill!
