Hello there! My name is Sam, and I've been living with type-one diabetes since I was four years old. As I grew older, managing my blood sugar levels became increasingly challenging, and I experienced several instances where I almost couldn't wake up due to low blood sugar. It was then that I decided to train my own Diabetic Alert Dog (DAD) to help me with my condition. Korey, my DAD, is trained to alert me to my blood sugar levels and provide me with juice or support if I faint. My journey of training Korey was so empowering that I decided to become a certified dog trainer to help others train their own DADs and make their lives with diabetes more manageable. I now own my own business, Korey the Kanine Dog Training, working full-time to help dogs and their owners become the best teams they can be while improving the lives of type-one diabetics all around the world!
